Brief Outline

During recent years, the use of theoretical and computational methods in solving biological questions has increased considerably. This course gives a short introduction to the state-of-the-art methodology used particularly in studying enzymatic reactions. The theoretical foundations of commonly used methods are presented on the course, together with a glance in recent research literature. The course will also include some hands-on computer exercises.

Topics covered during the course:

The course is highly recommended for graduate, PhD- and advanced undergraduate students in biochemistry, chemistry, and physics with interest in biological systems. A preliminary knowledge in either enzyme structure and mechanism or computational methods is recommended but not compulsory.
