License policy

The basic idea behind open source is very simple: When programmers can read, redistribute, and modify the source code for a piece of software, the software evolves. People improve it, people adapt it, people fix bugs. And this can happen at a speed that, if one is used to the slow pace of conventional software development, seems astonishing.

Kruununhaka basis set software, (C) 2003-2007 Pekka Manninen, (C) 2010-2011 Pekka Manninen and Jussi Lehtola, as well as other supplementary material found in these pages, are distributed under the rules of GNU Public License. You must accept its terms before you may obtain the source code.

In addition, the software must be cited every time results obtained with the help of this software are published, e.g. when employing completeness-optimized basis sets or using Kruununhaka for basis set evaluation. See the sample citation.

This software has been written and distributed in a hope that it would be useful to the computational chemistry community. In this spirit, we strongly recommend that you give the outcome from usage of this program to the knowledge of the scientific community. A convinient way to do this is to send your basis sets and completeness profiles created with this software, as well as the improvements and modifications to the author. These will in turn be spreaded to the community via this web page. You can send them after you have published your results. Also we would be happy to list your publication utilizing Kruununhaka in the publications list.
