This was one of the three in chemistry and physics. The countries subscribing to this programme will become entirely clear a little later. Perhaps 60-70 % of the planned budget of 1.18 M FRF per year will be available. During a preparatory meeting in February 1992 the following steering committee was elected: J.P. Desclaux (Grenoble) K. Faegri (Oslo) I.P. Grant (Oxford) B. Hess (Bonn, Vice-Chairman) J. Karwowski (Torun) P. Pyykk| (Helsinki, Chairman) K. Schwarz (Vienna) A. Sgamellotti (Perugia). The ESF officer responsible for this programme is Dr. Giovanni Dalu. The forms of activity and there preliminary volume in k FRF (at "100 % level") are: 1. Euroconferences, probably in 1993, 1995 and 1996 or 1997, de- pending on whether the program will be a 4- or 5-year one (60). 2. Study centres (150) 3. Workshops (320) 4. Short-term fellowships (500) 5-6. Steering-committee meetings, office etc. (150). Total 1 180. The steering committee may shift monies between these posts. The usual ESF rules will apply. The first Euroconference is being organised by H. Stoll and E.J. Baerends and will take place on 10-14 June, 1993. A steering committee meeting will take place in connection with it.
